Choose Us
Because you want to choose a learning environment that offers the best opportunities for your family, we know you’ll be pleased with the educational experiences you find at Elgin School. Please allow us to share some of the reasons why our school is the best choice for your child’s future.
We Are Dedicated to Your Child’s Success
We care about each student, and we are dedicated to providing an education that allows all of our students to succeed. Our highly qualified teachers work with students in small class settings, which allows them to personalize their teaching strategies. We also offer a full range of support services and program offerings that enhance student learning.
We Are Like Family
You want to be sure your children are safe. You want to know they are learning skills and character traits that will lead them to future success. But sometimes you’re not sure where to turn or whom to trust. Our small school in our tight-knit community is like extended family, and we delight in the challenge.
In our small classes, our teachers know and deeply care about every student in their classroom. They cultivate an environment of hard work, respect, and fun. Outside of the classroom, it’s not unusual to find them cheering on their students at their rodeo, 4-H, or after-school events.
We Are Patriotic
Our Morning Flag Ceremony
We begin every day at Elgin School with a flag ceremony in which students pledge allegiance to the United States of America. There are six pillars of character that we follow: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. We incorporate these into our morning flag, programs, and classrooms throughout each school year. Every month, we recognize chosen students and staff at morning flag.
The Veterans Day Program
Annually, we honor our veterans in a special Veterans Day ceremony. We once again held Elgin School’s Annual Veterans Day Program on campus after a hiatus due to COVID last year. November 10 was a crisp, clear day that found everyone anxious to begin. The program started with the Fort Huachuca Color Guard presenting the colors, followed by the National Anthem sung by Sonora Cubillas-Schmitt. The kindergarten class led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Mrs. Faley opened with a welcome speech.
The Patriot's Pen Essay Contest
Each year, our students enter the VFW’s Patriot’s Pen youth essay contest. The essay contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300 to 400-word essay, expressing their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW commander-in-chief.
